The HTC Advantage X7500 is a pioneer of the 'phablet' category, offering a massive 5-inch screen and a physical 8GB microdrive for storage.
The HTC Advantage X7500 (codenamed Athena) was a monumental device that pushed the boundaries of what a handheld could be in 2007. It featured a huge 5-inch VGA display and a unique magnetic, detachable QWERTY keyboard that also acted as a screen protector. Most remarkably for its time, it housed a physical 8GB Microdrive (HDD) alongside its internal flash memory. Designed as a total mobile office solution, it featured a dedicated ATI Imageon graphics processor, TV-out capability for presentations, and a built-in GPS receiver. Running Windows Mobile 5.0 (later 6.0), it offered full HSDPA connectivity, making it the ultimate tool for power users who needed desktop-like capabilities in a pocketable (albeit large) form factor.
