The HTC Magic is a historical milestone as the second Android smartphone ever released, offering a keyboard-less alternative to the G1.
The HTC Magic (also known as the T-Mobile G2 or Sapphire) holds a special place in history as the successor to the T-Mobile G1 and the second-ever Android device. Unlike the G1, it ditched the physical sliding keyboard for a much thinner, more pocketable all-touch design. It features the iconic clickable trackball for navigation and a dedicated set of physical buttons for home, menu, back, and search. While it initially launched with Android 1.5 Cupcake, it was the device that helped prove Android could compete in the sleek, consumer-focused smartphone market.
