The HTC TyTN is a powerhouse of the mid-2000s, legendary for bringing 3G connectivity and a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard to mobile professionals.
The HTC TyTN, codenamed 'Hermes', was one of the most iconic enterprise smartphones of its era. It was one of the first worldwide devices to support 3G/UMTS connectivity, enabling high-speed mobile internet long before it became standard. Its design featured a spring-loaded side-sliding mechanism that revealed a full QWERTY keyboard, making it a favorite for mobile emailing and document editing. Running Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Edition, it included a 2.8-inch touchscreen and a front-facing camera for video calls. With a dedicated jog wheel for navigation and a complete connectivity suite including Wi-Fi and Infrared, the TyTN set the bar for mobile productivity in 2006.
